GPT 5.5 is now available in Hapee

OpenAI's latest model is now live in Hapee — natively integrated, without waiting for patched-together releases. GPT 5.5 brings +40% accuracy in multi-step reasoning, a 200K-token context window and persistent conversational memory.

One thing we learned in 11 months of operation: when OpenAI launches a new model, customers want to try it the same day, not 4 weeks later when the integrator's sprint ends. So this time we were prepared: when GPT 5.5 came out yesterday, we already had the deploy ready. Available to all Hapee customers starting today.

How to turn it on

Settings → AI Models → select GPT 5.5 on the agent you want. That's it. No migration, no re-prompting needed. The prompts you had with GPT 4o keep working, only better.

What GPT 5.5 brings

A quick summary of OpenAI's launch translated into what it means for your Hapee agents:

+40% accuracy
In multi-step reasoning (tasks that require thinking A → B → C before answering). Fewer cases where the agent "gets confused" in long conversations.
200K context
A context window 4× larger than GPT 4o. You can fit a customer's entire conversation history without trimming.
Persistent memory
The model remembers across sessions. If Camila talked to your agent 2 weeks ago, the agent can reference that conversation without you manually passing it the history.
Improved tool use
Calls Workflows functions with more precision. Fewer cases where it "should call a workflow but doesn't think of it".
Built-in vision
Processes images natively. Useful for WhatsApp, where customers send photos of the product they want · the agent identifies the model and replies.
Same latency
Despite being larger, OpenAI managed to keep the latency of GPT 4o (~700ms p50). There's no speed penalty.

Practical comparison

We tested both models on 200 real customer conversations (anonymized) from the last month:

  • First-contact resolution: GPT 4o 71% → GPT 5.5 84%
  • Cases where the agent "hallucinated" a fact: GPT 4o 4.2% → GPT 5.5 1.1%
  • Cases escalated to a human: GPT 4o 22% → GPT 5.5 14%
  • Conversation NPS (end-customer survey): GPT 4o 7.8 → GPT 5.5 8.6

When to use GPT 5.5 vs Claude (MCP)

You now have both top-tier models available. General recommendation:

  • GPT 5.5 · high-volume tasks, fast replies, vision-heavy work (WhatsApp with photos), intensive tool use
  • Claude (MCP Native) · long conversations with deep CRM context, enterprise cases with strict compliance, highly elaborate reasoning

In practice, most customers are using a mix: GPT 5.5 for the public "front door" agent and Claude MCP for the internal support agents that need to see the customer's full history.

Pricing

No change to your plan. GPT 5.5 is included in all Hapee tiers at the same cost as GPT 4o. OpenAI kept the pricing of the previous version, which is rare and welcome.

Upcoming roadmap

  • Q2 · Full support for the GPT 5.5 audio API (native voice with no intermediate TTS)
  • Q2 · Native OpenAI Assistants API (persistent state without polling)
  • Q3 · GPT 5.5 fine-tuning with your dataset from the Hapee UI, without touching the OpenAI API

Turn on GPT 5.5 today. If you don't notice the difference in the first 24 hours, we'll buy you a coffee.
