We have news we're especially excited to share: Vía by Hapee advanced to the next phase at Metro de Santiago's Demo Day 2026, the open innovation process that this year was convened under the motto "Transforming the network that moves the city". And what's coming is even bigger: soon we'll be competing to become the official AI of Metro de Santiago.
We presented Vía at Metro's Demo Day 2026, the project passed this stage of the process and with that we're already in at Metro: mentorships and AI development plans alongside the network. The grand winner will be announced at the end of the year — and we're already exploring side projects with Metro.
What Vía is, in one sentence
Vía by Hapee is an AI travel assistant that accompanies Metro passengers in real time, with a special focus on contingency moments: a stopped train, a detour, a service change. Right when support channels collapse and uncertainty spikes, Vía answers on the channel where the passenger already is.
What advancing to the next phase means
Metro's Demo Day is a staged process, and advancing means something very concrete: the proposal was reviewed and selected to stay in the race — and with that, we're already in at Metro: this stage includes mentorships and AI development plans alongside the Metro team, working on the project from inside the network.
The grand winner will be announced at the end of the year. And while that final approaches, the relationship is already in motion: we're exploring side projects with Metro in parallel with the competition. Whatever the December result, Vía is already running on rails.
Why we're going in with confidence
Vía isn't a lab experiment or an idea on a slide: it runs on a platform that's already in production with real customers. The pilot's challenge isn't inventing the technology, it's adapting it to the operator.
The technology already serves real users 24/7 in critical infrastructure operations — the same problem, already solved and working in the real world. That's why the proposal starts with a limited pilot at high-traffic stations: low risk, fast learning.
Thank you, and we keep building
Behind this application is a team that believed in it from day one: the people who built the architecture, the ones who recorded the video against the clock, the ones who polished every screen of the proposal. Thank you, team. And thanks also to the customers and partners who have trusted the platform for years — without that real operation, Vía would just be a good idea.
December will tell who gets the title — we're already in, building with Metro. If one thing has brought us this far, it's always the same: we keep building.
Vía runs on Hapee. Your business can too.
